Trivia
The reason that alto horns are used in brass bands
In a British brass band, alto horns are used instead of horns. This is because these brass bands developed with a consistent composition of saxhorns, created by Adolph Sax. The instrument that occupies that alto range, is the instrument that is today called an alto horn. This is the reason that the horn is not used in brass bands.
