CHARLIE

Charlie is the world's first communication-oriented robot that converses by adding a melody to its speech. Using Yamaha's VOCALOID and automatic song creation technologies, Charlie responds to the user when spoken to, adding melodies as it chats and offers advice on everyday matters. By answering in song, Charlie is able to relax its users and communicate with them in a heart-warming manner, a new way to interact with music in one's daily life that differs from simply listening or playing.
