MU80

The first multi-timbral tone generator equipped with XG, Yamaha’s proprietary tone generator protocol for computer music.
The MU80 is equipped with reverb, chorus, distortion and other effects in addition to the 32-part, 64-voice polyphonic AWM2 tone generator. The MU80 also features AD inputs for connecting with electric guitars, microphones and more.
As USB ports were not in common use at the time, this tone generator is equipped with serial cable ports known as “To Host” ports.
