Our theme for FY2023 is “Life”.
The keyword “life” has many different meanings, each of which will be interpreted and expressed from the different perspectives of Yamaha Corporation and Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd.

My body, soul, and life.

My body becomes the score I play.
A map for me alone.

That sensation when, after playing the same score over and over again, your hands move of their own accord and the music becomes a part of me.
That sensation when, after riding the same road over, and over again, the ever-changing ceremony begins to overlap, creating a map for you alone.
I utilized a technique inspired by the use of multiple exposures to express the sensation of gradual materialization of the music that shapes life, of the physical experience of travel.
I hope that these photographs, in which people, musical scores, and maps overlap, appear to the viewer like a single tableau with ambiguous boundaries.

This work is the last in a series of three works that use music scores and maps to express the spirit shared by both companies.
