Graphic Design Series for AXIS

Our theme for FY2023 is “Life”.
The keyword “Life” has many different meanings, each of which will be interpreted and expressed from the different perspectives of Yamaha Corporation and Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd.

Same score, different tone.
Same map, different scenery.

When you play the piano, the tones created differ depending on the emotions and moods you put into your performance, even when playing from the same score. Out on the road on a motorcycle, the route choices you make and your own sense of adventure lead you to encounter an endless variety of scenery, even when looking at the same map. Here we have used scores and maps as symbolic motifs to express a life in constant association with music and mobility.

The photographs in this advertisement were taken by the designers themselves in a process of trial and error. We searched for a piano that had been played for years and got on the motorcycle to give the shot the ambience of an actual location.
