The journey to what I'm looking for

I think that music scores and maps are similar.
In pursuit of the ideal, we write on them, mark them, and review them.
As we repeat this process over and again, they become inhabited by the time and experience we spend with them.
We hope that you will picture musicians seeking the ultimate in tone, or motorcycle riders on a quest for beautiful scenery.

I took these advertising photographs myself, trying again and again until I was satisfied.
For the music, I deliberately shot a score I had used in my childhood, photographing it with an old lens. The seashore shown on the map is from Japan’s northeast coast, a region I found beautiful in the many journeys I made there after the great Tohoku earthquake of 2011.
