We all have formative experiences that stay with us forever, even if they involve things that we now take for granted.
It was like that for me the first time I encountered a motorcycle and a grand piano.
They both happened to be manufactured by Yamaha, and I was utterly overwhelmed by their size and drawn in by their presence.
My fear that I would never be able to drive a motorcycle or play a piano eventually turned into awe, and then determination.
Thinking back now, that could have been the moment in my youth that I started on the path toward becoming a Yamaha designer.
