The first experience of fun

AXIS Vol.204

The sun-dappled living room is full of tenderness and smiles.
With surprising intuition, a young child straddles a rocking horse fashioned after the pictured motorcycle, and discovers the joy of riding as they experience inertia and the shifting of their center of gravity. As the rocking horse moves, a cluster of bells meant to simulate engine cylinders rocks back and forth, pealing resplendently. Although simple, this design awakens the child to the joy of tapping out a beat. This first brush with mobility and musical instruments reaches deep into the child’s heart, and tugs gently at the memories of the adults who lovingly witness the child’s discovery, creating a relaxing experience for them as well.
