TX816

An FM tone generator equipped with the power of eight DX7 synthesizer tone generators.
The system can create ensembles by functioning as a multi-tone generator when connected to MIDI sequencers, but was more often used to create powerful sounds by layering sounds from multiple tone generators simultaneously. At the time, synthesizers had monaural output and thus resorted to effects and other tricks to create a stereo-like sound. In contrast, the TX816 features outputs for each module to create a broad feeling sound.
