New content produced by Makoto Ozone to appear on the Virtual Stage

2023.10.03

Performances from THE REAL and the Kento Tsubosaka Trio have been added to the Virtual Stage at Innovation Road.
Featuring extremely talented young pianists, these piano trios have been produced by Makoto Ozone, a jazz pianist active on a global level. The Virtual Stage offers you the chance to experience original pieces chosen specifically by the artists themselves.
We hope that you will enjoy these powerful performances from the artists who will headline the jazz scene in future, in a setting remarkably reminiscent of a live act.

*The Virtual Stage: An exhibit that utilizes the unique “Real Sound Viewing” technology developed by Yamaha to offer viewers the experience of a live music performance, using virtual images set to the music of automated musical instruments.

■THE REAL
A piano trio featuring Kazuhiro Takemoto (piano), Junichi Sato (bass), and Kunito Kitai (drums). As their name suggests, The Real are constantly creating new music inspired by the sounds of the real world in the moment. Pianist Kazuhiro Takemoto studied Electone with Maiko Hirai, and jazz piano under the tutelage of Makoto Ozone, Satoru Shionoya, and Takana Miyamoto, winning first place in the A Division at the international Yamaha Electone Competition in 2012. In 2015, he was appointed general music director of "DANCE WITH ME," a musical focusing on social dancing, and in June of the same year he was selected by the Grammy Awards to receive a scholarship to study at a camp abroad. Takemoto graduated first on the list from the Kunitachi College of Music in 2018, majoring in jazz, and joined the Yosuke Inoue Jazz Trio as a pianist in 2019. In August 2020, he released his debut EP, "I Pray / Kazuhiro Takemoto" with Yamaha Music Entertainment Holdings, Inc. In this performance, he appears in Real Sound Viewing with a performance produced by jazz pianist Makoto Ozone.

■The Kento Tsubosaka trio
Pianist and composer. Moved to the United States on graduating from Keio University. After auditioning he was chosen in 2017 for the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, a course directed by Danilo Perez that is aimed at fostering the development of musicians, and in 2019 graduated from Berklee College of Music at the top of his class. For this Real Sound Viewing performance he appears with Shinpei Ogawa (bass) and Kunito Kitai (drums). The three are also members of jazz pianist Makoto Ozone’s “From OZONE till Dawn” project, which introduces up-and-coming young talent who will accept the reins for the next generation. Makoto Ozone was also the producer for this performance.
