Distance Viewing is a live event viewing system developed by Yamaha.
In addition to the powerful sound of the live concert venue and life-size images of the artists,
data including stage direction such as lighting and VJ are recorded and
reproduced to create an immersive experience just like a live concert.
About
Key features of Distance Viewing.
Reproducing a genuine live performance sound
Live music venues use specialized audio equipment to create the unmistakeable sound and feel of a live band, but typical live-viewings at movie theaters cannot achieve that, even with the latest surround-sound systems. Distance Viewing reproduces the genuine sound of a live venue because its system records each element of a live performance as data in multitrack format, retaining the dynamics of the artists on stage.
Images as if you were in the room
Previous remote-viewing technologies face many shortfalls and challenges: only a few specialist venues are suitable for capturing the audio and video; the viewing experience feels more like a movie than a concert thanks to different camera angles and cuts; and most screens make the musicians too small, too high and too far away. Distance Viewing uses an easily installed large-format screen adjusted to each room, coupled with single-perspective stage-accurate video capture to provide life-size, realistic viewing and easy capture in a wide range of venues.
Stage production that fills the space with colour
In addition to concert sound and realistic video, Distance Viewing also recreates the stagecraft that accompanies a live performance, including lighting, lasers and more. This allows audiences to feel a sense of immersion impossible to acheive with other remote viewing experiences.
