Versatile functions enhance the joy of playing.
TransAcoustic guitars allow players to focus on playing without having to connect to external devices for effects. The TAG3 C—the second generation of the series—is designed for players who seek new ways to play, expanding their options with a built-in looper and audio playback functions.
This versatility is muted by the design because we value quality and simplicity that do not compromise people’s desire to play the acoustic guitar. We chose a bright color for the top board and darker colors for the side and backboards to highlight the acoustic nature of the instrument to the audience.
Integrating the innovative built-in looper and audio playback functions into the conventional acoustic guitar design was also a matter of devising a new way of playing. We opted for a circular tap sensor for the looper that harmonizes with the look of the sound hole to retain the appearance of an acoustic guitar. Part of the sound hole inlay departs from the typical concentric pattern to a rippled design that draws attention to the sensor. This intentionally “off-centered” configuration subtly denotes the blend of acoustic sound and digital effects emanating from the guitar. The blue color—a rare choice for inlays—exudes the comfort and pleasure of playing a TransAcoustic guitar, setting it apart from other guitars. The thin purfling along the thick lines of the binding is an understated indication of the refined craftsmanship. This attention to detail underpins the guitar’s blend of traditional beauty and modern functionality.
In creating this design, we carefully examined guitars from around the world, drilling down on the aspects that tug at creative players’ heartstrings. With its new features, the TAG3 C is loaded with possibilities for unprecedented modes of expression. We hope it will inspire creative players to discover ways of playing we did not even envision.
