Designed by Nature Clarinets

In the Designed by Nature Clarinets, deliberate use has been made of wood that would not normally be utilized in production processes where uniformity is required.
Each has its own unique appearance, with no two alike, and has been painstakingly assembled to make the most out of the diverse aspects of natural materials.

Prototype

This is a one-of-a-kind clarinet that makes the most of the diverse natural characteristics of wood, such as gain pattens (FUMOKU), sapwood (SHIRATA), and bark inclusion (IRIKAWA). Additionally, we use the traditional Japanese repair technique called “Kintsugi” to highlight the beauty of individual characteristics.

Adding new individuality

Adding new individuality

Wood with large areas of bark inclusion or splits that make it difficult to use as-is in a musical instrument can be given new individuality by removing and repairing these areas, allowing it to be used in an instrument.
