For the vocals, the track uses “Hatsune Miku V6,” which Crypton plans to release on April 14, ahead of its launch. The software incorporates Yamaha’s proprietary VOCALOID6 engine, which includes the new AI-based synthesis engine “VOCALOID:AI,” which delivers more natural and expressive singing voice synthesis. Yamaha also adopted new editing tools that allow quick adjustment of accents and vibrato, as well as functions that instantly create “doubling” and “harmonizing,” production techniques that generate richer vocal expression.

About “Feel. Move.”

At the Japan Mobility Show, Hatsune Miku appeared as an evangelist at the Yamaha Motor booth and guided visitors through the exhibit. Director Hiroyoshi Uruma oversaw the overall production of the Yamaha Message Show, which enabled visitors to experience the booth theme, “Feel and Move,” through their five senses. The song was produced in collaboration with popular VOCALOID producers Hitoshizuku × Yama△ and Kosuke Nakayama, producer of the brass dance group MOS. Set in Yamaha Corporation’s musical instrument factory and Yamaha Motor's motorcycle factory, Hatsune Miku sings an energetic hybrid sound that combines ska punk and EDM (Electronic Dance Music), and together with emotional lyrics, it elevates Yamaha Motor's philosophy of being a “Kando Creating Company” (company that creates excitement) into a pop performance. The song includes a rap section in the middle, as well as a call-and-response play on the word CAN DO, which also means “to be moved ” and encourages the audience to join in, making it an anthem of courage to take action that inspires all who listen.

Distribution

Crypton distributed “Feel. Move.” through KARENT, a label specializing in VOCALOID music. To mark the start of distribution through KARENT, a nodee page that compiles links to various music streaming services has been set up.

What is VOCALOID?

Developed by Yamaha in 2003, VOCALOID singing voice synthesis technology and software create vocals for songs using lyrics and a melody (musical notation) as input. With just a computer or smartphone, users can add a virtual vocalist to their production environment that sings with any lyrics, melody, voice and singing style they choose. The intuitive interface allows direct lyric input on the piano roll, and with a wide range of vocal adjustment parameters, it enables creators to quickly turn inspiration into music. Synthesizing different vocals is as simple as switching between voicebanks, which are created using data recorded from actual human voices.
