Yamaha Expands Higher-Grade Electric Guitar Lines with New Single-Cutaway Models: Pacifica SC Professional and Pacifica SC Standard Plus

Hamamatsu, Japan ― Yamaha Corporation announces the launch of its Pacifica SC Professional and Pacifica SC Standard Plus electric guitar. Since its debut in 1990, the Pacifica™ series has been designed to meet the demands of professional session players who seek excellent playability and a wide range of potential sounds, ideal for a variety of music genres.

Designed for guitarists seeking versatile expression, the new Pacifica SC Professional and Pacifica SC Standard Plus models are new single-cutaway versions of the Pacifica Professional and Pacifica Standard Plus models released in January 2024.

Reflectone™ pickups ― co-developed with Rupert Neve Designs, a high-end professional audio equipment manufacturer ― along with an S-H pickup configuration and a Focus Switch, offer a wide tonal range from vintage twang to modern textures. The contoured, chambered body, engineered with Acoustic Design technology ― a unique process based on modern technologies including 3D modeling ― enhances resonance. Meanwhile, its Rounded-C neck profile, compound-radius fingerboard, and premium hardware provide effortless playability.

New Reflectone™ pickups ― co-developed with Rupert Neve Designs ― deliver clear, articulate tones with solid lows and sparkling highs. With its S-H configuration and Focus Switch for bridge pickup produce an overwound-like tone, spanning vintage twang to modern textures.

Using our proprietary Acoustic Design technology, including acoustic analysis and 3D modeling, the body is precisely routed to maximize resonance and vibration through the neck, enhancing sustain.

Shaped with artist feedback in mind, the Rounded-C profile neck features a satin finish, 9.5"-12" compound-radius fingerboard*, and medium jumbo stainless-steel frets, delivering a perfect balance of comfort, speed, smooth bending, and road-ready durability for effortless performance. The fingerboard is available in two finishes: rosewood for a warm tone, or maple for a bright tone and crisp attack.
