Yamaha Group Selected in CDP’s Prestigious “A List” in Both Climate Change and Water Security Areas
Selected for climate change for fourth time and third consecutive year, water security for first time

Hamamatsu, Japan ― Yamaha Corporation (hereinafter “Yamaha” or “the Company”) announced that it has been recognized for leadership in corporate sustainability by CDP,*1 an international environmental non-profit organization, as an “A List” company for its proactive initiatives and transparency regarding both climate change and water security for 2025. This is the fourth time and the third consecutive year Yamaha is included in the A-List for climate change, and the first time for water security.

Each year, CDP researches the environmental impacts and associated business risks and opportunities of tens of thousands of companies around the world, and publishes the results through a proprietary assessment process. In 2025, more than 22,100 companies disclosed information through CDP’s platform. In last year's (2024) evaluation, 462 companies, representing approximately 2% of all evaluated companies globally, were selected for the A List in the “Climate Change” category. Among these, 77 companies received double A List evaluation in the “Water Security” category as well. This year, Yamaha was selected as a member of this limited group of companies, signifying that our sustainability strategy is highly regarded at the global level.

To realize the “Well-Being of People around the World,” Yamaha is engaged in initiatives aimed at achieving a sustainable society under our Group Environmental Policy, focusing on “addressing climate change,”“sustainable use of wood,”“resource conservation, waste and hazardous substance reduction,” and “water resource conservation.”

Yamaha has established a transition plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, including along the value chain, and we are working to achieve our near-term goals that have been validated by SBTi.*2 We are actively proceeding with the introduction of renewable energy, and in 2024, we installed a large-scale 1.4 MW solar power generation facility at our Kakegawa Factory (Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture). Furthermore, we use water resources with consideration for the locations where we conduct our business activities, under a policy striving to reduce water intake and lessen environmental impact, and we are continually advancing the management and efficiency of our water usage. For example, we reuse the wastewater from the plating and cleaning processes for wind instruments in order to reduce our water consumption. We believe that being selected for the A List in the areas of climate change and water security is recognition of our efforts to advance these initiatives.

The Yamaha Group will continue to aim to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by addressing both climate change and the conservation of natural capital, and progress our response to climate change and environmental issues from a long-term perspective.
