Yamaha Condenser Microphone YCM705

Hamamatsu, Japan ― Yamaha Corporation announces the release of the YCM705 condenser microphone.

The YCM705 features a condenser capsule that uses two custom-designed 1-inch large diaphragms, which provides excellent acoustic performance and high sensitivity to breath sounds in vocals and the subtle nuances of instrument playing. In addition, a pad switch has been included that changes the gain in three steps, off, -10 dB or -20 dB, which is necessary when recording loud sources such as drums, and a low-cut switch for reducing low-frequency noise contained in environmental sounds. Among the included accessories is a pop filter that effectively suppresses pop noise when recording vocals. Finally, the exterior design incorporates the flowing curves of a wind instrument, just like the YDM series of dynamic microphones, and the surface of the robust metal body is finished with a matte paint finish to enhance the texture.

3. Convenient low-cut filter gets the sound right even before the mix

Also built into the YCM705 is a low-cut filter that instantly enables clearer recording at the source, by reducing unwanted environmental sounds, such as the rumbling of an air conditioner, or other low-end noises. When recording several instruments individually to different tracks, this additionally helps to eliminate or tweak unwanted, clashing low-frequency bands, making the final mixing process easier.
