Yamaha FGDP-50 and FGDP-30 Finger Drum Pads (Released September 2023)
These newly developed instruments make it easy to enjoy playing authentic drums with your fingers. The lightweight, compact bodies are equipped with a speaker, tone generator, and rechargeable lithium-ion battery, allowing users to play anytime, anywhere. The ergonomic layouts of the pads are optimized for finger drumming, ensuring maximum playability and precision. Additionally, they are fine-tuned for hardness and sensitivity, enabling users to express subtle dynamics and perform advanced techniques like flams and rolls with ease. Suitable for all music genres, these new-generation instruments can bring the best performances out of everyone from beginners to experienced finger drummers, as well as DJs, song writers, drummers, and more.
"THE JOYFUL PIANO" Concert (Held in December, 2023) *Co-recipient: Dentsu East Japan Inc.
"THE JOYFUL PIANO" was an exceptional concert in which three people with limb disabilities played Beethoven's 9th Symphony with an orchestra and chorus. They played an "AI-assisted Piano" that automatically synchronized to and accompanied the pianists, allowing them to play the physically manageable parts and then tasking AI to do the rest. In supporting the passion of the pianists to play the 9th no matter what their disabilities or experience may be, this dream stage was realized through the power of music and technology. Through this concert, we delivered to many people the joy of engaging with music and the courage to take a new step forward.
