Wood reforming technologies used to create “great” sound

We researched “great sounding wood,” starting with research into the sound of centuries-old violins. These efforts produced our A.R.E. wood reforming technology, which matures wood in a short time to produce the sound of an instrument that has been used for many years.

Using digital technology to make acoustic instruments vibrate

Yamaha released the TransAcoustic Piano, which was developed around the concept of using a digital tone generator to vibrate a piano soundboard. We also applied this concept to the body of the acoustic guitar to increase the potential of this instrument.

Creating new instruments from digital concepts

Analysis of acoustic musical instruments was performed to aid in the development of digital synthesizers. The results of these efforts were also applied to acoustic instruments Venova, creating new instruments with greater expressive capabilities.
