The Beginnings of the Acoustic Design Business

We researched sound, and put our sound control technologies to work

Great sound requires a great environment

1974

Making sound devices as well as musical instruments and acoustic equipment

Yamaha has utilized a range of technologies for electric acoustics, architectural acoustics, and noise control, etc., in the design of more than 300 halls and cultural facilities around the world.

1986

Commercialization of sound proofing technologies

In 1986 Yamaha created musical instrument practice rooms and listening rooms that allowed sound to be heard clearly and without fatigue, expanding on this concept to release the AVITECS soundproof rooms in 1989.

1998

Controlling sound reverberation

Yamaha's sound field panels were released in 1998, later followed by sound conditioning panels in 2010. Simply installing them in a room allows reverberation to be controlled, creating a comfortable environment for performing and listening to music.
