The Expansion of Professional Audio Equipment

Music requires more than just musical instruments. Could we use the technologies accrued in our development of electronic organs?

After musical instruments... the stage…

1969

PA equipment that delivers on-stage performances to the audience

Yamaha released a vocal amplifier in 1969. In 1972 we released mixers and speakers as the first PA system to be made in Japan, establishing a presence in the concert scene.

1987

The birth of digital mixers

After the digitalization of musical instruments, we began to do the same with our audio equipment, releasing the DMP7 digital mixer in 1987 and the 02R in 1995. These products served as a platform for the expansion of home studios.

2001

From digital mixers to digital mixing systems

The PM1D was released in 2001, and the RIVAGE PM10 shipped in 2015.
Each featured the latest sound processing techniques and network technologies of the day, to provide onsite support at large concerts.
