A type of removeable media made by Iomega® Corporation which stores digital data from a Jaz® drive. Currently, Jaz cartridges are available in two capacities; 1 GB and 2 GB. A different type of Jaz drive is required for each, and can be used with both Mac and PC computers. Jaz drives are available with USB or SCSI connections. They are used as a convenient way to store large amounts of data (large digital audio files, for example) from a computer or an electronic musical instrument that has the proper connection. If a smaller (and more inexpensive) memory capacity is needed, Iomega makes two different Zip® drives; one which uses 100 MB cartridges, and one which uses 250 MB cartridges. |
