  Zip® drive
A device made by Iomega® Corporation which writes digital data to a type of removable media called a Zip® cartridge. Currently, Zip drives are available in two capacities; one which uses 100 MB cartridges, and one which uses 250 MB cartridges. The Zip® drive can be used with both Mac and PC computers, and is available with USB, SCSI, or parallel port connections. Zip® drives are used as a convenient way to store large amounts of data from a computer or an electronic musical instrument that has the proper connection. If a larger memory capacity is required (large digital audio files, for example), Iomega makes two different Jaz® drives; one which uses 1 GB cartridges, and one which uses 2 GB cartridges.
