This jazz holiday celebration program was originally broadcast live to DisklavierTV viewers and featured guitarist Marty Ashby and trumpet master Sean Jones. Accompanied by a full 17-piece band, this performance features classics, new twists on your holiday favorites, as well as other special surprises.

Marty Ashby has performed and recorded with Slide Hampton, Claudio Roditi, Nancy Wilson, Paquito D’Rivera, Herbie Mann, Phil Woods, The Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band and others. He has also produced over 2,000 concerts and 40 recordings on the MCG Jazz Label.

Sean Jones was lead trumpet in the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and a member of the SFJAZZ Collective. Jones recorded and/or performing with many major figures, including Jimmy Heath, Nancy Wilson, Dianne Reeves, Gerald Wilson and Marcus Miller. Sean was selected by Miller, Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter for their 2011 Tribute to Miles tour.

In addition, saxophonist and arranger Mike Tomaro joins the band, premiering several new arrangements.

This performance was originally recorded and broadcast live on December 21, 2013, from Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, AZ.
