Six top scholarship students from the pioneering Boston music college make up The Berklee Monterey Sextet—a special group who performed at the 55th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival.

Six of the finest young contemporary musicians at Berklee College of Music hail from Japan, Korea, Canada, and the US. The group, led by pianist Matt Savage, performed largely original music, most of it written by the group’s members. Musicians in this performance include John Egizi (trombone), Nick Frenay (trumpet), Anthony Fung (drums), Hoo Kim (bass), Matt Savage (piano), and Erena Terakubo (alto saxophone).
