Yamaha Corporate Artist Affairs Signs Singer/Songwriter Ben Kweller to its Piano Roster

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 24, 2006) — Yamaha Corporate Artist Affairs has signed singer/songwriter Ben Kweller to its piano artist roster. Kweller is playing the Yamaha CLP-280 Clavinova Digital Piano. Kweller first became widely known as the frontman of Radish when he was just 16 years old. His latest solo effort, Ben Kweller, was released on Sept. 19.

"YCAA is very excited to add Ben to our piano artist roster. He is something of a child musical prodigy, playing the piano since his early childhood and penning his own songs by the age of eight. We are proud we can now call him a Yamaha artist," comments Chris Gero, corporate director of Yamaha Corporate Artist Affairs.

As the frontman of Radish, Kweller and the band were hyped as the next Nirvana and gained fame in the mid-90s. Radish released two albums and made appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

When Radish disbanded, Kweller signed a solo record deal and spent time touring with artists such as Juliana Hatfield, Guster, Kristen Hersh, and Evan Dando. In 2003, Kweller toured Australia with fellow singer/songwriters Ben Folds and Ben Lee, billing themselves as The Bens.

Kweller's latest solo effort, the self-titled Ben Kweller, was produced by Gil Norton (Pixies, Foo Fighters), and is in stores now. Kweller is currently playing dates in the U.S. and Europe. For more information please visit, www.benkweller.com.
