Yamaha Artist Elton John's First Network TV Special

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 8, 2005) — Yamaha artist and legendary musician Elton John is coming to NBC for his first network television special – "Elton John: The Red Piano." It will air on Monday, Dec. 12 at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central.

The special is based on John's hit Las Vegas show at Caesars Palace, also entitled "The Red Piano." Heralded a "must-see" by the Los Angeles Times, the show takes the audience inside John's world and incorporates his best-known repertoire from more than 30 years as a performer.

In addition to the John's extraordinary music, famed director and photographer David LaChapelle has created a video dreamscape dripping with rich imagery of Hollywood and Las Vegas icons " each moment created to give the viewer a new, three-dimensional interpretation of John's most memorable recordings.

The NBC television special will showcase John performing some of his classics such as "Bennie and the Jets," "Daniel" and "Your Song" from his Caesars Palace concert. Also featured are spectacular LaChapelle videos showcasing pop star Justin Timberlake as a young Elton John and even a pole dance by actress Pamela Anderson.

Additionally, Yamaha and John have joined forces to offer the Elton John Limited Edition Signature Series Red Piano, a Mark IV Disklavier that is the exact color of the piano in "The Red Piano" show. The piano features five exclusive John solo recordings including "Your Song," "Tiny Dancer," "Rocket Man," "Take Me to the Pilot," and "Candle in the Wind." Therefore, whoever owns the piano also gets a private concert. Only an extremely limited number of 30 pianos will be sold.
