Larry Lelli's Biography

Larry Lelli is one of the top-call freelance drummers in New York City and a veteran Broadway drummer, conductor, contractor and producer of over 30 Broadway shows. His extensive Broadway history includes the 12-time Tony Award-winning hit, The Producers; the Tony Award-winning hit, Come from Away; Assassins; and How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying. He also has served as drummer and onstage actor in the smash hit rockabilly show, Million Dollar Quartet.

Often called a "musical chameleon," Larry's eclectic resume includes recordings and performances with Grammy Award winner Melissa Etheridge, pop star Vanessa Williams, Daniel Radcliffe, Nick Jonas, Marin Mazzie, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus (ABBA), Heather Headley, The Mamas and The Papas, Anika Noni Rose, Lee Rocker (Stray Cats), Darlene Love, Sebastian Bach, multi-platinum Nashville star Doug Stone, Larry Gatlin, Ray Benson (Asleep at the Wheel), Pinkard & Bowden, virtuoso jazz pianist Geoffrey Keezer, indie rockers Suffrajett and the nationally acclaimed Cedar Avenue Big Band.

Larry is a contributing author for Modern Drummer magazine and holds a degree in music performance and conducting from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He is also an active educator and enjoys giving private lessons, clinics and master classes around the world. A proud member of the American Federation of Musicians and Actors' Equity Association, Larry loves to talk about Yamaha Drums.
