Jay Webb’s versatility on the trumpet keeps him in high demand for a wide variety of engagements across the musical community. Equally at home performing with the National Symphony Orchestra, laying down impeccable tracks in a recording studio, or on stage playing for such artists as Cory Wong, Lake Street Dive, Queen Latifah, John Legend, and the Grammy Award-winning 8-Bit Big Band, Jay is a musician who truly does it all.
Jay was born in Hamburg, New Jersey. His father introduced him to the trumpet at age three. Jay demonstrated his natural ability and keen ear at an early age. He joined the school band in the fourth grade and continued to develop his talent throughout his school years.
Jay’s latest project, The DST Band, is a loving tribute to iconic trumpeter Doc Severinsen. The DST Band recreates some of Doc Severinsen's most dynamic performances on such big band favorites as Stardust, I’m Getting Sentimental Over You, and Flying Home.
Today, Jay is considered one of the world’s finest studio and live performance trumpet players. He is also a much sought-after clinician.
When he is not touring the world, Jay stays busy around New York City performing in the orchestra of Broadway musicals and playing on a variety of recording projects.
