Marty Sammon's Biography

Marty Sammon was born on October 14, 1977 in Chicago, Illinois. At an early age, Marty found himself performing in Blues clubs with some of Chicago's most notable local legends. His Ragtime/Blues roots fit comfortably with the local signature sound and by his early 20's, he had expanded his audience to national levels touring with Phil Guy and Otis Rush.

For almost a decade, Marty has been a member Buddy Guy"s "Damn Right Blues Band" and has contributed as a studio musician on Buddy Guy's most recent Grammy Award winning album "Living Proof." Since his tenure with Buddy Guy, he has shared the stage with the biggest names in the music industry: Dr. John, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, BB King, Carlos Santana, John Mayer, Kid Rock, Susan Tedeschi, Jimmie Vaughan, Jonny Lang and countless others.

Marty has also appeared on several commercially released DVD's: Carlos Santana-Santana Presents The Blues, Eric Clapton-Crossroads Guitar Festival, Buddy Guy North Sea Jazz Festival, Buddy Guy Live In Lugano Switzerland, Otis Rush-Blues Express (*Grammy Nominated). Television appearances include (but not limited to): Late Night with Jay Leno, The David Letterman Show, Jimmy Kimmel, etc.

Marty has numerous albums out under his own name and is currently working on an all original project to be released soon.
