Johan Jørgensen's Biography

Guitarist Johan Jorgensen was born on 26th of March 1988 and has lived in Denmark for most of his life. He started playing guitar when he was 8 years old. When he was 14 years, he began playing gigs and playing around in Denmark. He has mostly played in cover bands and party bands.

Johan is inspired by following guitarists: Michael Landau, Robben Ford, Wayne Krantz, Oz Noy, Eric Clapton and many more.

Johan studied his early years on Højbo Friskole and then Kalundborg Gymnasium (high school). While high school Johan took one year at MGK, which is pre-school for the rhythmic conservatory in Denmark. Currently, Johan is studying and living in Sweden. He studies music at Fridhem Folkhögskola, which is one of Scandinavia's best jazz schools. Johan have had great teachers/musicians such as: Soren Reiff, Mats Holtne, Cennet Jonsson, Jesper Nordal Jesper Lovdal and many more.

Recently, Johan participated in Yamaha's Six String Theory Guitar Competition. He received a 3rd place overall, but won jazz/fusion category and that resulted in great prizes. The judges were: Lee Ritenour, Steve Lukather, Larry Baione and more.
