Twenty-one performers from around the world converged in Minnesota in early July for the 2013 Junior Piano-e-Competition. Evren Ozel, who began his musical education at the age of three-and-a-half years old at the MacPhail Suzuki program in Minneapolis, has numerous accomplishments as a pianist and composer. He has performed with the Minnesota Orchestra and the Young Artist World Piano Festival Orchestra; as well as received awards for his performances and compositions including first prize in the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra Youth Chamber Music Competition. Enjoy his Semi-Finals performance, which includes the works of Frederic Chopin, Claude Debussy and Felix Mendelssohn. This uncut, unedited performance was previously recorded at Newhall Auditorium on the campus of Shattuck-St. Mary's School in Faribault, MN on Wednesday, July 10, 2013.
