YCAA Provides Gear for MTV’s VMAs

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 15, 2009) MTV turned New York City inside out for the 2009 Video Music Awards, and two Yamaha pianos graced the stage for two very special performances. Yamaha Corporate Artist Affairs, Inc. sent a white DC3A grand piano for a memorable, over-the-top performance by the international pop phenom Lady Gaga, who took home three moonmen, including the coveted Best New Artist.

YCAA also sent a black C3S, which was wrapped with images of New York City, for a performance by Yamaha artist Alicia Keys. Keys joined Jay-Z on stage to deliver one of the rapper's new singles "Empire State of Mind" from his newly released album The Blueprint 3.

Russel Brand returned to host for the second year in a row, and appearances were made by Madonna, Janet Jackson, Beyonce, All American Rejects, Taylor Swift and Green Day, among others. The yearly extravaganza was available to a potential viewing audience of more than 1.2 billion people via MTV’s global network of 68 channels reaching 577 million households around the world as well as through syndication.
