Jon McLaughlin Joins Yamaha's Esteemed Artist Roster

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 25, 2008) — Described as an American heartland singer/songwriter and pianist, Yamaha Corporate Artist Affairs, Inc. is proud to introduce Jon McLaughlin as the latest addition to its artist roster. Hailing from Anderson, Indiana, Jon released his major debut album aptly titled Indiana on May 1, 2007 on Island Records. Jon will be hitting the road with a CP300 stage piano.

The album featured the hit single "Beautiful Disaster," which was heard around the world when Jon performed the song on the CBS daytime drama The Bold & the Beautiful in August 2007. An estimated 450 million viewers tuned in that day to the number one drama series in the world.

"Jon is a talented young piano player with a lot of heart and drive, and we're happy to welcome him into our family," comments Chris Gero, vice president of Yamaha Corporate Artist Affairs, Inc. "We look forward to supporting him, and we are excited to see what this year will have in store."

After the release of Indiana, 2007 featured a whirlwind of opportunities for Jon. Some of those highlights included touring with Kelly Clarkson, Sara Bareilles and Paolo Nutini, appearances on NBC's The Today Show and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, music exposure through NBC's hit comedy Scrubs and recognition as one of "The 10 Hot Guys of Summer" by US Weekly magazine.

This year started out with a bang as well, with Jon performing the Oscar nominated song "So Close" from Disney Pictures' Enchanted on the 80th Annual Academy Awards. Jon performed the song (onscreen) in the movie as well.

Jon also performed "Something to Believe in" with Jason Mraz and Van Hunt on the Randy Jackson's latest release Randy Jackson's Music Club, Vol. 1.
