Stevie Wonder, John Legend and Jamie Cullum Headline Yamaha's 2008 NAMM Dealer Concert

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 31, 2008) — Disney California Adventure® Park's Hyperion® Theater provided a breathtaking backdrop for the annual Yamaha Dealer Concert on Friday, January 18, held in conjunction with Winter NAMM 2008. Headlined by superstar John Legend, the spectacular lineup included British jazz sensation Jamie Cullum, progressive rocker Jon Anderson (of the rock group Yes), VH1 "You Oughta Know" artist Sara Bareilles and Gabe Dixon, as well as The Fray's Isaac Slade. Fresh from a recent U.S. tour, the legendary Stevie Wonder stunned the audience by making a surprise walk-on appearance and playing a medley of his hits.

Hosted by comedian and CBS Late Show host Craig Ferguson, the evening kicked off with a spectacular opening video showcasing Yamaha's celebrated artist roster. John Legend, one of the world's top R&B performers, delivered inspired performances of his contemporary classics "Ordinary People," "PDA," "Let's Get Lifted" and "So High." Jon Anderson gave an affecting performance of "Long Distance Runaround" and "Owner of a Lonely Heart." Jamie Cullum brought the audience to its feet with his chart topping hits, "Get Your Way," "Twentysomething" and "All at Sea."

Show highlights also included performances by up-and-coming artists Gabe Dixon and Sara Bareilles. The biggest surprise of the evening was an unannounced appearance by the legendary Stevie Wonder, who received an extended standing ovation from the exhilarated audience. He performed renditions of such hits as "Sir Duke," "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" and "Superstition." Wonder's classic "I Wish" brought the featured performers together on stage for an unforgettable finale.

"We're thrilled that Stevie Wonder could join us for this remarkable night of entertainment," said Yamaha Corporate Artist Affairs Vice President Chris Gero, who produced the concert. "The evening's extraordinary caliber of artists underscores the high regard—and appreciation—Yamaha has for its dealer-base. It was a night none of us will soon forget."

All of the performances were backed by a stellar 25-piece orchestra conducted by arranger, producer, and Yamaha artist Tim Akers. Renowned bassist and Yamaha artist Nathan East served as music director for the highly esteemed house band, which included J.R. Robinson on drums, Dave Delhomme on keyboards, and Luis Conte on percussion.
