Tim Stewart Joins Yamaha Guitars

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (Aug 9, 2007) — Tim Stewart, guitarist for the American Idol tour, has joined Yamaha Guitar's impressive artist roster. Tim plays an APX900 acoustic and AES920 electric on the Idol tour, which kicked off July 6 and extends to Sept. 22.

Spanning 56 dates, 35 states and even making a stop in Canada, Idol's sixth season Top 10 – Melinda Doolittle, Chris Sligh, Gina Glocksen, Sanjaya Malakar, Haley Scarnato, Phil Stacey, Lakisha Jones, Blake Lewis, Chris Richardson and Jordin Sparks – have all embarked on this summer tour that has become an annual right-of-passage for the finalists who are able to crack each Idol season's Top 10. This is Tim's second year to play on the tour.

Since moving to Los Angeles from the Bay Area in 2003, Tim has performed with Jessica Simpson, Heather Headley, American Idol Live, Omarion, Jennifer Hudson, Frank Mccomb, Tonex, Mary Mary, Marques Houston and many others. He has played on numerous albums with artists such as Destiny's Child, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Lopez, Faith Evans, Ray J, Lionel Richie, Bobby Valentino, Tamia, Tonex, Marvin Sapp, Noel Jones and the City of Refuge, Deitrick Haddon, Brian Culbertson, Heather Headley, K-Ci, Vickie Winans, Rodney Jerkins, Tupac and more.

As a member of alternative hip-hop group 4th Avenue Jones, he co-wrote and co-produced their album titled Stereo – The Evolution of HipRockSoul on Gotee/EMI records in 2005.

He has appeared on television with a variety of artists on shows such as the Late Show with David Letterman, Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America, Ellen, CBS Early Show, MTV Music Video Awards, Pepsi Smash and the Today Show.
