Christopher Zello's Biography

Clarinetist Christopher Zello maintains a diverse background as a performer and an educator, as well as working in arts administration. A Yamaha Artist since 1997, Christopher is a member of the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra and the Fox Valley Symphony of Appleton and performs with other orchestras in southeastern Wisconsin. Currently he teaches at Cardinal Stritch University, and has worked for the Florentine Opera (Development Assistant), Present Music (Assistant Manager), the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music (Program Coordinator), and Interstate Music (Woodwind instrument repair).

In 1999, Christopher released his first solo CD entitled Contemplations: Music for Clarinet & Piano, containing selections found on many state contest music lists. He has been a Clarinet Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center, attended the Banff Centre for the Arts, and toured with the American Wind Symphony. Christopher has performed several live solo recital broadcasts on Chicago’s WFMT 98.7 and Wisconsin Public Radio, and in July 2003, he completed his first triathlon.
