Carl Fischer, one of the most sought after players on the jazz scene today, made a name for himself touring and recording with trumpet legend Maynard Ferguson from 1993 to 2004. Currently traveling and recording with piano man, Billy Joel, Mr. Fischer is a featured soloist, playing trumpet, flugelhorn, trombone, tenor sax, and soprano sax on the top-selling, sold out world tour.
In great demand as a studio musician, clinician, and guest artist, Carl has performed, or recorded music for Mariah Carey (with Randy Jackson, producer), Will Smith, The Four Tops, The Dells, The Temptations, Mary Wilson and The Supremes, Diane Schuur, Sam Moore, The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Wynton Marsalis, The Funk Filharmonic, Blood, Sweat, & Tears, Manfredo Fest, The Blue Man Group (for Intel commercial), Sophie B. Hawkins, Esteban, Shakira, and Bill Cosby's Little Bill (for Nickelodeon and CBS networks). In addition, Mr. Fischer was principal chair with NYC's Tony Award winning Broadway hit, Movin' Out, and has appeared live on the CBS (Tony Awards), ESPN (NBA Playoffs), and USA (U.S. Open) networks.
Performing with his own group, Carl Fischer & Organic Groove Ensemble, Mr. Fischer recorded a CD (self-titled) in 2003, selling over 2000 copies. Plans are underway for a second CD which will be released on the Grammy award winning Artist Share label (NY).
