Bret Kuhn

Bret Kuhn's Biography

A graduate of Northeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor degree, Bret Kuhn studied percussion with Dan Petersen while at N.M.S.U. In addition, he was a member of the Disney World All-American Band in 1980 and then became a member of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps in 1981. He began teaching the Cavaliers in 1984 and served as Caption Head as well as Percussion Arranger for the World Champion Cavaliers. Having won 5 world championships and 5 High Percussion Awards. He is the percussion coordinator for the Prospect High School music program, a Finalist for Bands Of America. Bret is also a freelance drum-set artist in the Chicago area and has performed with Rich Matteson, Bobby Shew, Gloria Estefan and Nexus. He is also active as a percussion arranger for various colleges and high schools across the nation. As a clinician for Yamaha, Zildjian, Remo and Innovative Percussion he has traveled extensively presenting clinics across the U.S., Japan and Europe.
