Michael Lington's Biography

Acclaimed saxophonist Michael Lington has performed for royalty and sold-out crowds around the world. As no stranger to the top of the charts, Michael's latest CD Heat reached Top 5 on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz chart and was chosen as Jazz Trax' Best Album Of The Year. The lead single, "You and I," became a number 1 radio single, making it his 11th radio hit. Michael was nominated for International Instrumentalist of the Year at the 2009 Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards. During the same year, he joined longtime collaborator and keyboardist Brian Culbertson opening arena shows for Barry Manilow. He got his start in Bobby Caldwell's band and later toured for three years with jazz/R&B legend Randy Crawford. He is currently on a 200 date tour across 25 countries as a special guest with Michael Bolton and has just completed his 7th studio album set for release early 2012.
