Konrad Paszkudzki

Biography

At the age of 14 Konrad Paszkudzki was named the "Young West Australian Instrumentalist of the Year." At 15 he was accepted into University, studying jazz piano at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). He graduated with a Bachelor of Music in 2007 and was awarded the Melville Toyota Scholarship for most outstanding graduating student. In 2008 he was the winner of the Generations in Jazz James Morrison Scholarship – the first pianist in the 20-year history of the competition to earn the prestigious award. As a result, Konrad has been performing regularly with James Morrison ever since.

In 2009 Konrad relocated from Perth, Western Australia to obtain his Masters Degree on scholarship at the University of Miami. Throughout 2011 and 2012 he was based in LA, where he spent time playing with the Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, and The Jeff Hamilton Trio.

After moving to New York in 2012, Konrad formed his own trio to undertake a one year residency as the house trio at 54 Below (beneath the iconic Studio 54). In 2013 the Konrad Paszkudzki Trio had its own main show at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola, broadcast live on WBGO, and was featured with Wynton Marsalis at events for Jazz At Lincoln Center. Since becoming established in New York, the trio has recorded 2 albums.

As of 2014, Konrad is now the full time pianist in the John Pizzarelli Quartet.
