Glossary of Terms:
 
omni
1) In MIDI, this refers to the response of a MIDI device to MIDI channel information; with omni ON, the device will ignore MIDI channel assignments and respond to all incoming MIDI note data. With omni OFF, the device will respond only to MIDI data that it receives on its assigned MIDI channel.
2) In audio, this is an abbreviation for omni-directional, which means to pick up or transmit from all directions.
