Limited Edition Yamaha SLB-200LTD Elevates the Silent Bass to A New Level
—Innovative Design Enables Supreme Portability Without Sacrificing Tonal Qualities; Features High Grade Maple Neck and Ebony Fingerboard—

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Yamaha Corporation of America, Band and Orchestral Division, introduces the SLB-200LTD Silent Bass, a performance-oriented bass designed with a compact body that makes transport a breeze.

The SLB-200LTD's hollow body design and internally mounted pickup system deliver pizzicato tone that is solid, rich and realistic while fitting naturally into any jazz or pop setting. Built-in electronics offer plug and play simplicity and a detachable frame gives the instrument true feel and playability, as well as excellent support and comfort. Frames remove easily to increase the portability of the instrument. The SLB-200LTD is designed to allow the entire instrument to break down and fit into a compact case, which can be carried comfortably with the shoulder strap.

"I love this new Silent Bass," stated renowned musician and Yamaha Artist Nathan East. "Not only does it sound great, it looks beautiful – I'm especially enjoying the subtle improvements like the wood and the hardware."

Volume, treble, and bass controls on the SLB-200LTD provide straightforward management over the instrument's tone, while its active electronics eliminate the need of external pre-amplification.

"Yamaha designers set out to create a bass that had all the characteristics of an upright acoustic instrument," said Ken Dattmore, Marketing Manager, Yamaha Strings. "Whether playing arco or pizzicato, the Yamaha Silent Bass delivers true bass feel and tone. The SLB-200LTD advances the Silent Bass to a new level, meeting the demands of the world’s most discerning bassists."

Featuring fine quality materials, the new Bass (weighing at 15.3 lbs) offers a flamed maple neck, high-grade ebony fingerboard, gold-toned geared machine heads and an acoustic body design that enhances tone compared to previous bass models.

The limited edition SLB-200LTD is currently available at an MSRP of $4,995.
