Ground-Breaking Quartet Ideal for Performers of All Levels; Celebrates Yamaha's 50th Anniversary of Making Musical Instruments in the United States
Silent Quartet Finished in Black Sparkle
YSQ-BSL Limited-Edition Black Sparkle Silent String Quartet
ANAHEIM, Calif.—Yamaha Corporation of America, Band and Orchestral Division, will preview the YSQ-BSL Limited-Edition Black Sparkle Silent String Quartet at Winter NAMM 2010. Celebrating Yamaha's 50th anniversary of making musical instruments in the United States, this exclusive quartet offers a striking Black Sparkle finish.

The Yamaha quartet includes two SV-200 studio solid-body silent violins, one SVV-200 studio solid-body silent viola and one SVC-110 silent cello. Ideal for artists of all levels, including members of professional string quartets, amateur musicians and students, the instruments enable musicians to create memorable quality performances on remarkably beautiful instruments. Additionally, all instruments can be played silently, using headphones or through an amplifier, resulting in a warm, full-bodied tone. Each instrument features quality ebony fittings; a maple neck and body; acoustic-like feel and ergonomics; and the ability to use any standard shoulder rest on the violins and viola.

"Yamaha is pleased to offer this beautiful quartet in honor of the company's 50th anniversary. Since only twenty of these quartets will be produced, we are sure that electric string ensembles will be eager to take advantage of owning a truly unique set of instruments," said Ken Dattmore, marketing manager, Yamaha Strings. "Today, Yamaha Silent Quartets are revolutionizing every aspect of the string world, from educational programs to professional string quartets. We are proud to offer this ensemble of instruments to the fast-growing electronic strings market."

The Limited-Edition Black Sparkle Silent String Quartet will be available in May 2010.
