Designed in conjunction with world-renowned trumpet artists Jens Lindemann and Chris Martin, the YTR-988 features a multi-plane adjustable thumbnook and auxiliary finger ring. The instrument marks the first integration of new a 'light touch' rotor lever mechanism, which provides a quick response with minimal effort for the player.

"The trumpet's unique design brings together ultimate playability, excellent intonation and the warmth of the rotary trumpet sound," says Jonathan Goldman, product marketing specialist, Yamaha Wind Instruments. "We believe this instrument will make a large impact on the trumpet community."

Ideal for the classical player seeking a more traditional rotary sound, the YTR-988 works well in all piccolo trumpet repertoires including solo, chamber and ensemble literature.

The YTR-988 will be available in May 2009.
