Yamaha Selected as a Health & Productivity Stock Selection Brand for the First Time

Yamaha Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Yamaha") has been selected as one of the brands under Health & Productivity Stock Selection for the first time, which selects companies that excel in Health and Productivity Management* among the Tokyo Stock Exchange listed companies. Yamaha has also been recognized as a Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization (White 500).

Yamaha Corporate Services Corporation, a subsidiary of Yamaha, was also recognized as a Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization (White 500).

The Health & Productivity Stock Selection was jointly launched by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) in 2015 to select companies that practice employee health and productivity management from a management perspective and actively implement health management strategies.

The Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization is a program launched in collaboration with METI and the Nippon Kenko Kaigi in 2017 to recognize organizations that practice outstanding health-awareness management. In particular, the top 500 organizations in the large enterprise category are recognized as a Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization (White 500).

Yamaha Group's Initiatives

Since 2002, the Group has been conducting regular health checkups: the Birthday Month Health Checkup at its in-house clinic. All examinees are granted a doctor's consultation based on the diagnostic results, health guidance, and group health guidance in the morning of the day of the examination, and the prompt feedback leads to a high level of health awareness among employees. Above all, the smoking control measures that Yamaha has focused on have produced significant results, including a decrease in the percentage of smokers from 36.2% in 2002 to 10.7% in 2020.
