A high-end large analog record player released as the top model in the GT Series, named for Yamaha's Gigantic and Tremendous design concept which it inherited.
It employed a belt drive system and came standard with the gimbal support-type straight-arm YSA-1 as the tone arm. (The photograph shows the product with the optional YSA-2 attached)
The precision turntable featured a 5.8-kg, 374-mm diameter wrought aluminum cast platter with an inertial moment of 1.2 t/cm2 (including mat). A 74-mm diameter × 34-mm a+Q30luminum-brass disc stabilizer came standard.
