With a 16-voice 8-part FM tone generator, an 8-track sequencer, an AWM tone generator rhythm machine, and effects, the V50 was Yamaha's first all-in-one synthesizer.
Equipped with a 3.5 inch floppy disk drive that allows disk-based management of tones, rhythms, and sequence data, this long-selling model also came with MDR functionality that allowed it to receive data from external MIDI devices and save it to disk.
