Sviatoslav Richter was often hailed as the greatest pianist of the 20th century due to his outstanding performance technique. He first played on Yamaha CF full concert grand pianos in performances in Italy in 1969, and was hooked on Yamaha pianos from then on.
For his last performance in Japan in 1994, Richter performed on a CFIIIS.
