The NX-U02 changes the world of PC sound!

With the spread of on-line music and video services, huge music collections can be created on PCs. While this lets you easily enjoy audio and music from your PC, the fact is that there are very few products capable of enveloping you in your favorite music with good quality sound. The NX-U02 changes that, making it convenient to play PC audio and music with powerful sound simply by connecting a single USB cable.

High Output of 20W Exceeds that Normally Expected from a USB Powered Speaker

The PowerStorage™ Circuit developed by Yamaha achieves 20W* (10W x 2), about 20 times that of a normal USB bus powered speaker. This solves the problem of insufficient output common to USB speakers. It also brings you the clear, lownoise sound quality possible from USB digital audio input, so you enjoy beautiful sound with a spacious feeling.

Powerful Bass from Yamaha’s Twin SR-Bass

The NX-U02 incorporates Yamaha’s exclusive SR-Bass (Swing Radiator Bass™) technology. By carefully tuning the dual 4.5cm (1-3/4”) titanium cones and speaker unit, we achieved sound that is well balanced, rich and powerful, previously unobtainable from small size speakers.

USB Connection Makes It Easy to Use

Power is supplied to the speaker from the PC through the USB connection, so you do not need an AC adaptor or battery. You can use it anywhere near your PC without troublesome wiring.

PowerStorage™ Circuit Technology

Yamaha’s unique PowerStorage Circuit focuses on the difference between music signal peaks and average level to deliver amazing maximum instantaneous output power of 10W x 2. Ordinary USB bus powered speakers use low efficiency analog designs that are not capable of making full use of the power supplied by USB and can only deliver output power of about 0.5W x 2.

If music varies in loudness or includes rests, its signal level is not constant. The power used to play music is an average of about 1/8 of the amount that is supplied. The remaining 7/8 of the power is unused and wasted. The PowerStorage Circuit stores this unused electric power and supplies only enough to match the music level. This high efficiency power storage circuit can achieve 20W output even with the small quantity of power supplied via USB.
